Songes Tome 2 Page 2 Final Art by TerryDodson Songes Tome 2 Page 2 Final Art by TerryDodson
The colors for Songes Tome 2 Page 2 - done by Rebecca Rendon and me in Photoshop. The art was colored in Channels - a method I learned from Alex Sinclair. The balloons were removed digitally. This page was pretty easy to color as we just grabbed our colors from Book 1!

Well, this is gorgeous. Amazing. But what is this channels-based coloring you speak of? Not familiar with this technique.

Just answered this for someone else - I color it as I would color set up in any other format - it just saves memory compared to individual layers for color, lineart etc when using layers. I bet it's in the DC Comics Guide To Coloring and Lettering Comics. I think it's a fairly standard way to set up your file for coloring at Marvel or DC.

I have not heard of that method of coloring before. Must find information on that. Anyways, gorgeous coloring.

Interesting. I'll try it, but if it looks awful it's your fault ;)

The good news is that the entire coloring is exactly the same - it simply uses less Memory.

I cannot color in Channels. I need the safety net of Layers, as many as possible. And then it's 4 in the morning, and 12 hours have just vanished.

Nice work, you brave soul.

It's the only method I use, except on Songes Tome 1 which I used Layers. It saves a ton of memory. And you can always add a new layer on top - color on that and then merge onto the first layer.

Awesome. If it saves memory I'll have to give it another shot.
Thanks.
