Songes Coraline Cover Pencil by TerryDodson Songes Coraline Cover Pencil by TerryDodson
This is the pencil line art version of the cover to Songes Coraline Tome 1. This is the graphic novel series I'm working on with French writer Denis-Pierre Filippi for Les Humanoïdes Associés. The first book is out and the second book should be out next year.

Art was drawn with Light Blue and HB Lead Pencil on 13 x 19" 500 Series Strathmore 2 Ply Bristol Board. It was then significantly cleaned up in Photoshop.

Though my favorite Coraline illustration may be the Songes - Sketchbook cover, this cover art is really fabulous too !!

Very cool to read we'll see the second part of the Songes story. What the hell's wrong with this nectar ???? ;)

Thanks, actually the Sketchbook cover was the original cover, but was deemed "too sexy", so I drew this one instead.

Oh ? Didn't know that.
Pretty strange judgment :O_o: ... but good thing at last we're are able to enjoy both as published covers anyway ! ;)
Yap both artlines are super nice but the (eventual) sketchbook coverart has a 'little something more' you know. :dalove:

The good thing is the final cover actually helped lay the foundation for the cover to #2, so it all worked out in the end!
