Here's my first convention sketch from Comic Con International in San Diego, July 2010, featuring Dejah Thoris.

Drawn with Col Erase Light Blue Pencil, Staedtler HB Lead, Black Copic Mulitliners 05 and 08 Markers, Brown Pitt "S" Marker, Warm Grey Copics and finally some White and Henna Prismacolor Pencils on 12" x 16" Canson Pastel Paper.

A lovely depiction of Dejah Thoris, which makes apparently why everybody on Barsoon seems to want to marry her.

This one really struck me when I saw it for some reason. Would you mind if I took a shot at coloring it sometime? I think it would be a lot of fun! :] I'll email you the finished piece when I'm done so you could see it.

Looks fantastic!

Glad I got to see you for at SDCC for a brief moment. Planned to come by more but didn't make it - had to work more than I expected. That show is a beast!

Hope you and Rachel had a great show!

I hear ya brother! What a zoo! I say just about nothing!

Thanks, for dropping by the booth, hopefully we can both be a show where we can get a chance to talk a little bit.

Agreed - this might have been the least I've seen of a Comic Con. It's like every year it gets bigger and I see less.

Glad I was able to stop by. Hope to see you at a less chaotic show soon!

I have two ideas to see more-

1) Get to SD early on Wednesday so I can set up my booth early and then be able to see most of the show Wed. night
2) Limit my commission list so I can have a little more time to visit with people

Definitely not bad ideas. I lucked out that I didn't have to work the Image booth Wed night, so I got to run around and do most of my buying that night. Just wish I had more time to see more!

A lovely interpretation of one of my favorite plot devices! The incomparable princess herself!

Funny timing on this; I just finished strong-arming Per Olsen into doing an illustration of Deja Thoris and John Carter for a journal entry I wrote here: [link]
